I am writing this as a senior citizen’s impression of a spectacular event. I only remember Halloween from my childhood. All a few of us did then was knock on doors and say ‘trick or treat’ in order to get a few sweets or a slammed door! But this was amazing, different and unexpected.
The lounge had been decorated with all things horrible and devilish: dangling spiders, skeletons and all frightful things.
There was a large number of people there, male & female, old and young, singing and moving to musical all time favourites played skilfully on a guitar and sung by the player – an excellent performance. We all asked, ‘How much is that doggy in the window?’ and sang ‘Oh when the saints go marching in, we shall be with them.’ We all clapped, swayed and joined in.
We were served by a large number of helpers, all our desires satisfied, drinks and lovely small cakes, anything we requested!!
Sammy organised it all and mingled with all. She was Halloween dressed to impress, and she certainly did
A good time was had by all, including me, a witch! It ended with the raffle, which this time I did not win. Those who did, received great prizes.
Congratulations Sammy – organiser superb!
