Father John is an Akari Star

Thursday, 9 January 2020

'Akari Stars' are our little way of recognising when our colleagues, residents, friends, families and visitors to our homes go that little extra mile to put a smile on someone's face. These gestures can range from making items or baking buns for a stall at an Open Day, to picking up extra shifts without complaint to ensure the smooth running of their home or for the simple act of a volunteers kindness by sitting with a resident who may not receive many visitors. Moorfield House's latest 'Star' is Father John, a retired priest who volunteers almost every evening at Moorfield House assisting with evening meals. Father John used to visit his brother who was a resident at Moorfield House a few years ago and has continued to share his time with us ever since. Father John was over the moon to receive his 'star' and may have even shed a little tear. Thank you for choosing to spend your time with us Father John :-)
