We received a donation of 2 mobile phones to be given to residents to assist them with keeping in touch with their families. Yesterday the home gave one of them to resident Audrey, who used it straight away to phone her Daughter Rosey. We shortly after received an email from Rosey stating, “I am excited to be able to ring my mum and not interrupt the staff when they are busy!”
Audrey having her own mobile will mean that she can speak to her Daughter and Granddaughter whenever they want, instead of having to wait for one of our landline phones to be available. It will make such a huge difference to them, and is particularly important now whilst the home is not accepting visitors. Being able to give this phone to Audrey yesterday was such an exciting and joyous occasion, warming the staff and Home Managers heart, it really made their day and Audrey's!!
The more we can support our residents to communicate with their loved ones during this difficult time, the better!
