New Beginnings

Being in a new environment away from all your creature comforts and perhaps more importantly away from your friends and family is an emotional process, whether you are standing at the school gates at the age of 5, standing outside college at the age of 18, standing outside the offices to your new job at the age of 25 or at the age of 74 standing outside a care home, where you may have specifically told your loved ones that you didn't want go and live and that you would be just fine on your own at home.... chances are this is a decision that they didn't want to have to make either. 

It's tough for everyone involved, but it's pictures like this of Barry being welcomed into his new home at Aycliffe in Newton Aycliffe, by our staff and perhaps more importantly our residents taking him straight for a game of dominoes that make your shoulders feel a little bit lighter and your smile a little bit brighter.
