Bridge View Care Home is situated in Choppington village in Northumberland, close to the dramatic Northumbrian coastline to the east, and a short drive away from the picturesque Northumberland National Park to the west. We are located in the heart of the local community, and we are served well by local bus services.

At Bridge View we have a dedicated and caring staff, a homely and friendly atmosphere, and high standards of cleanliness and care. All these things, important as they are, are the very least you’d expect from us. But there’s so much more to Bridge View. We are a real family!

The central focus of everything we do, day in and day out, is the general wellbeing of our residents, to ensure that they remain physically and mentally active, and that they are fulfilled and happy, and feel cared for, loved, and a part of the Bridge View family.

We are always looking for innovative ways of doing things, so we’ve initiated a few ambitious and exciting projects.

We have Rita’s Café, where our residents and their families can meet and greet on a daily basis, to talk and listen, laugh or cry!  It’s really popular, and it has made a massive difference in the Home.

We have a thriving knitting group, and we also have a reminiscence therapy room, where residents can spend calm sessions relating to things from the past.

We’ve re-decorated the Nursing floor, using different pastel shades on the doors to help residents orientate.

Another initiative is the ‘Resident of the day’ scheme, where we talk to individual residents about their specific needs, their environment, their day care, and so on, to check that they are happy with everything. Then we do our best to make improvements for them if necessary.

Our relatives’ board, named ‘You said, we did!’ is where families can put recommendations and queries into a suggestion box, then we respond and take action if necessary.

We have the ‘Stars of the Month’ where the devotion of our staff is recognised and valued by the residents, relatives and the Management.

The ‘Employee of the Month’ is the Company’s way to say thank you for the best achievements and highest standards of care met by of one of our Staff each month at Bridge View.

“I had a great day, I am still very emotional about it, I always wanted to see what earth looked like from space and I always wanted to be an astronaut from being a child. It was fantastic.“
